Both the manual and the electric dumbwaiters operate on similar type of shafts. For obvious reasons, the manual ones are cheaper than the electric ones. They both come with a key to lock them as a safety precaution to keep children from using them when adults are away.
You can also get them custom designed to suit your needs. An electric dumbwaiter will cost anywhere from $3000 to around $7000, and additional cost is charged for the installation.
There can be nothing better than getting a dumbwaiter you have a multilevel house and if you can really afford the cost, going in for an electric one is the ideal thing to do.
